The new features and enhancements that were delivered with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 have been so impactful and numerous that we are still going over all of them! By the time we’re done going over everything new, it might be time for the next release! In our last couple of CRM entries, we’ve been discussing the new mobility tools and features you’ll find in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016, and there’s still more to say on that, so let’s get to it.
There is now a mobile client form preview. Microsoft’s “Configure once, deploy everywhere” paradigm has led them to simplify the business analyst experience so that configuration changes can be easily viewed. When designing forms in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016, you can now readily preview the tablet/phone forms and dashboards, directly from within your browser.
Over a year ago, Microsoft introduced IFRAME and web resource support in CRM for Tablets as a “preview” feature. With the latest release of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, the feature is now generally available, and Microsoft has added support for Windows tablets (Windows 10) as well.
And Microsoft has enhanced secure mobile management with the integration of Microsoft Intune. Customers can secure the CRM data in “Bring Your Own Device” situations with the Mobile Application Management (MAM) capabilities of Intune. It enables users to separate their personal data and corporate data on their own devices.
CRM mobile apps can support Intune management policies such as:
- PIN enforcement
- Prevention of data leakage on a device (by, for example, disabling copy and paste to personal apps)
- Enforced encryption of app data at rest
- App-level selective wipe
