Microsoft Dynamics CRM makes it easy for your staff to access the solution on the go and from the device they choose to use. In addition to applications (apps) for mobile phones, Microsoft provides free apps for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM on tablets. A CRM tablet app enables your employees to use tablets to easily look up records, edit them, create new ones, and keep in touch with their colleagues.
Tablet support requires Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013, the latest version. For on-premises deployments of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, the app requires an internet-facing deployment of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 that uses claims-based authentication. The app is available for Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Apple iPad, and Android tablets.
The app is intuitive and uses familiar tablet gestures. When you first open Microsoft Dynamics CRM for tablets and sign in, you’ll see the Sales Dashboard. This dashboard is your home page for Microsoft Dynamics CRM for tablets, and it gives you a quick overview of your CRM data, including different views and charts. You can search for records, pin tiles to the dashboard, create a communication card, and work with lists and charts.
When your tablet is disconnected, you can still see your most recently accessed data. The data cached on your tablet is read-only, and you cannot create any new records until you reconnect to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server. Charts aren’t available offline, and some images might also be unavailable. CRM for tablets displays an alert to remind you when you are working offline. When connection to the server is available, tap the offline indicator, then tap the Reconnect link.
