Microsoft Dynamics GP is such a robust tool, it may be difficult to stay abreast of everything it has to offer. Core Payroll Extensions –included with your Dynamics GP license or the Human Resource Payroll Suite install — extends GP’s capabilities even further. Here are three great payroll features that you may have missed.
1. Deductions In Arrears – Have you ever encountered a situation where an employee didn’t earn enough to cover all of the deductions in a pay period? With GP’s Deductions in Arrears feature, you can mark deductions as outstanding and automatically collect them in later pay periods. The Deductions In Arrears module also enables the collection of mandatory arrears for employee deductions when the employee did not receive a paycheck. Any new deductions
that cannot be collected during that payroll processing are assigned as new arrears records for the employee.
2. Payroll Integration to Payables – Do you create payables transactions manually? Deductions withheld from employee paychecks such as taxes and insurance must be sent to third parties. Payroll Integration to Payables is a time-saving tool for automatically creating purchasing transactions for standard payroll generated expenses. You can quickly print checks and post a batch, without manually keying all the payables transactions required to complete payroll.
3. Overtime Rate Manager (ORM) – Do you have employees earning multiple rates, for example, an employee receives a bonus in the same pay period in which they worked overtime? If so, the Fair Labor Standards Act requires you to calculate the overtime rate based on a weighted hourly wage. Overtime calculations can be overly complicated. There’s rarely a one-size-fits-all calculation that applies in every situation. Microsoft Dynamics GP has the ability to perform these blended overtime rate calculations to ensure your organization’s FLSA compliance.
These simple, efficient add-on solutions can make your in-house payroll process infinitely easier.
