In our last couple of entries, we have been talking about some of the new business intelligence (BI) features found in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015, such as the new Management Reporter features and the new ability to publish a refreshable Microsoft Excel report from SmartList Designer. This time out we’re going to take a look at the new Business Analyzer features available for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015.
Microsoft Dynamics Business Analyzer is a cross-Dynamics BI tablet application that gives Microsoft Dynamics GP users the ability to easily view and take action on key business information. Business Analyzer was initially released in early 2013, and it has been very popular with enterprise users, with over 20,000 downloads since then. The recent seventh release, R7, is available not only for Windows tablet users, but also for iOS, Android, and for Windows phones.
A key new feature is the ability to see Management Reporter content within the app in addition to the existing report functionality. If you want to get a feel for the app, you can run the Business Analyzer application in Sample Report Mode at the Windows/iOS/Androids store. This lets you run the app without connecting it or setting anything up, to see how it works. Turn the Sample Report Mode off to connect it to your Microsoft Dynamics GP data. To do so, you will first need to install the Companion App Service Configurator for Microsoft Dynamics GP. Select your role and company, and the data will be displayed.
