Over the last couple years and over the last few releases, Microsoft Dynamics GP has delivered more and more employee self service features. These features are great because employees gain control over managing their own information, and your organization saves time and labor costs, while also ensuring more accurate employee data. Last month, MSDynamicsWorld.com hosted a webcast in which Microsoft senior program manager Jodi Christiansen presented an overview of the employee self service features in Microsoft Dynamics GP and demonstrated how some of them work.
At this point, those features are many. Here are some of the first ones, delivered in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2:
- Purchase Requisition
- Payroll Timecard
- Project Timesheet
- Home Page Parts
- Simplified Navigation
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 then delivered the following employee self service enhancements:
- Employee Profile
- Paystubs
- W4
- Benefits
- Direct Deposit
- Skills and Training
- Project Expense
- Manager Views
And the latest release, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2, gave us the following:
- Self Service User License
- View W2
- Time Management App
But that’s just a sampling of the more popular enhancements. Microsoft has added more than 250 new employee self service features to Microsoft Dynamics GP between the 2013 release and the latest edition! Many of these features were available before through Business Portal, but now they can be managed right from within Microsoft Dynamics GP. As Jodi Christiansen points out in the webcast, “Most of that functionality from Business Portal was moved into the Employee Self Service area by 2015.”
