The Web Viewer is the default viewer used to access reports created by Management Reporter. The web viewer has the same functions as the desktop viewer without the need to install the desktop client.
There’s no need for any special installation because it uses your computer’s default browser to present a secure, personalized report. Available options allow you to view charts, detail transactions, and collaborate with co-workers using the comments function. Reports can also be viewed right from the Microsoft Dynamics GP Client as seen in the screenshot below.
Here are four things you need to know to use the web viewer more effectively:
- Many commands are accessible via buttons on the Application bar of the web viewer. Some of the available commands are:
- Add Comment – Make a notation on the row you’ve highlighted in the report
- Download – Export the report as an XPS file or as a Microsoft Excel worksheet.
- Zoom – Increase or decrease the magnification of the report display
- Go To – Jump to a specific row in the report
- If a reporting tree has been created for a specific report, you can filter the data so that users see only the parts of the reporting tree they’re authorized to view and have been given access to in Management Reporter.
- If charts have been created for a report in the Desktop viewer, they can also be seen in the web viewer by selecting the Fact Pane.
- Comments can be added by any user who has access to view a report. They can be added at any detail level including Account and Transaction. Users can only modify or delete comments they have made unless they’re given Edit and/or Delete permission in the report library in Management Reporter.
