The next release of Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 R2, is expected to drop in May or June of this year. As we’ve discussed before, Microsoft gave a sneak peak at some of the new features at Convergence last month, particularly the new “all-in-one” document viewer and a new time management application (app). But Microsoft has also lifted the veil on a fuller list of the new features that we can expect to arrive with the next release.
That fuller list is as follows:
- All-in-One Document Viewer—Purchasing
- Time Management App
- SQL View Designer
- SmartLists Display Debits, Then Credits
- SmartLists—Default New Favorites to User vs. System
- Hide/Show SSN on Payroll and HR Reports
- View W2
- Combine GL Summary and Detail Inquiry Windows
- Historical Received Not Invoiced Report
- Auto Deposit Cash Receipts in Bank Rec
- Visual Indicator for Customer Over Credit Limit
- Enable Email for All Sale/Purchasing Forms (Short, Long, Other)
- Self Service User Type
- AP Invoice Workflow Approval
- Workflow Document Attach
The all-in-one document viewer can track a chain of documents through business processes managed in Microsoft Dynamics GP, so if a vendor calls to inquire about a purchase order, for example, you can use the all-in-one viewer to see all the items for that purchase order, such as receipt, payables voucher, invoices, and payments. You can also drill down into a single item’s detailed information. This viewer will be available for purchasing with this release, but it will eventually be expanded to sales and inventory as well.
