Microsoft Dynamics GP makes it easy to “mobilize” your workforce, enabling users to work in the system from anywhere, on any device. With these capabilities, however, come greater security demands on enterprises when it comes to identity and access management over all of these mobile devices. The good news is, with Office 365 the answer is already built-in, and comes free with your Office 365 commercial subscription, including Business, Enterprise, EDU, and Government plans. That answer is Mobile Device Management for Office 365 (MDM for Office 365), integrated with Azure Active Directory.
MDM for Office 365 is an enterprise-level identity and access management cloud solution and is built on the core offering of Office 365. It provides a powerful set of capabilities for enterprises with more demanding needs for identity and access management across their mobile devices. MDM for Office 365 offers new capabilities that will bolster the security of mobile devices as employees bring more and more of these devices to bear on the system. Here are just a few of these new capabilities:
- Conditional access: You can apply security policies on devices that connect to Office 365 so that Office 365 corporate email and documents are synchronized only on phones and tablets that are managed by your organization.
- Apply mobile device settings: Set and manage security policies such as device-level PIN lock and jailbreak detection on devices, helping to prevent unauthorized users from accessing corporate email and data when a device is lost or stolen.
- Selective wipe of Office 365 data: Remove Office 365 corporate data from a device when an employee leaves your organization, while leaving their personal data, photos, and apps intact.
