In our last entry, we were talking about some of the new business intelligence (BI) features found in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015, focusing on the ability to publish a refreshable Microsoft Excel report from SmartList Designer. This time out we’re going to take a look at the new Management Reporter features delivered in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015.
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015 has a new navigation list for accessing Management Reporter reports from within the financial or administration navigation buttons, right in Microsoft Dynamics GP. To use the new list, you must set it up in the Reporting Tool Setup window. A new tab has been added to that window for Management Reporter. Under that tab, just click the Deploy Reports button. Now you’ll have one-click access to Management Reporter reports, and you can create a new report or edit an existing report right from Microsoft Dynamics GP. Only reports to which a user has security access will show up in that user’s navigation list.
There are also new Management Reporter integration options, making it easier for users to choose for each company whether GL data will be available for Management Reporter, and whether analytical accounting data will be included or excluded. Users can better determine the data that is available to the Management Reporter DataMart. At the bottom of the Company Options Setup window, you can enable GL reporting and you can enable analytical reporting. By default, these options are not selected when a new company is created. These options were previously available in the Management Reporter Configuration Console, but now they are accessible from right within Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015.
