The Customization Manager module for Microsoft Dynamics SL enables users with no technical background to make screen customizations to Microsoft Dynamics SL. Users can quickly and easily modify any screen in any Microsoft Dynamics module without changing the underlying source code, and update screens as often as desired. This is the easy way to customize Microsoft Dynamics SL to the specific needs of your organization and the specific preferences of your users.
You can add new fields and controls, hide data items, set defaults, change field captions, and much more. Screens are instantly updated so you can see the results of your changes immediately, across your entire organization. Customization Manager empowers you to work the way you want.
You can also attach custom programs and specific business rules to any object in any screen. With some technical background, you can use Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications, included with Customization Manager, for more sophisticated customizations such as enhanced calculations, table lookups, validations, and references to most fields in Microsoft Dynamics SL.
You can tailor your solution further by creating screens with Tools for Visual Basic and incorporate them as objects with the Microsoft Dynamics SL Object Model, an innovative programmatic interface. The Object Model enables you to automate any Microsoft Dynamics SL screen, whether standard or your own creation.
You can adjust field colors, screen fonts, and the assignment of tool tips with the Customization Manager property window. You’ll see the original as well as the customized property values for all controls. You can also rearrange fields on screens to match your business flow, create custom tool tips to provide additional information, or assign custom keyboard shortcuts.
The Customization Manager module is available a la carte for both the Business Essentials and Advanced Management editions of Microsoft Dynamics SL.
