Simplify Vendor Setup And Management With Microsoft Dynamics GP

Using Microsoft Dynamics GP, you can create a new master vendor record in an easy to follow process. Here’s how simple the process is:

• Step 1 – To begin, click on the Vendor button listed under the Cards section.
• Step 2 – Enter unique vendor details such as vendor ID in the Vendor Maintenance screen which opens up.
• Step 3 – Next, click on Class ID which will open up the Vendor Class Setup screen. The Class ID is a time saving feature since it allows you to define and put-in standard data values for all master records for a given vendor class.
• Step 4 – To continue, click on the Accounts button.
• Step 5 – In the Vendor Class Accounts Setup screen that opens up, you can map the specific General Ledger accounts applicable for the class thereby ensuring consistency in posting to the appropriate accounts. Click OK to continue.

When you enter a Vendor Class ID in the Vendor Maintenance screen, you will find that fields such as Tax Schedule and Shipping Method become automatically populated.

Microsoft Great Plains provides you with the option to apply the same standard data defaults for all existing records in a given class.
